Description
- COCONUT HUSKS: Coconut husks are the rough exterior shells of the coconut. While the husks are not used for food, like the meat and liquid found within the exterior shell, the husk can be used in several ways, including creating enriched potting soil and as chips that can be used to provide ground cover for flower beds.
- COMPOSITION: The coconut husk is composed of 30% fiber and 70% pith, with high lignin and phenolic content. Due to the high lignin content, coconut fiber is very elastic, durable, and resistant to rotting.
- NATURALLY BENEFICIAL: Some planting materials tend to become too compact around plants, causing them to suffocate over time. However, coconut husk products allow oxygen to flow freely around plant roots, which helps maintain the health of your plants, ultimately allowing them to grow larger, and faster.
- BIODEGRADABLE PLANTERS: Coconut husk fibers are frequently used to make biodegradable planters. These Nariyal Jatte planters are not only environmentally friendly but also useful for transplanting seedlings directly into the soil, which reduces transplant shock.
- PREMIUM QUALITY: Coconut Coir is the name given to the fibrous material that constitutes the thick mesocarp (middle layer) of the coconut fruit (Cocos nucifera). The husk of the coconut contains approximately 75 percent fiber and 25 percent fine material, the so-called ‘coir pith’.
